"Kickoff Cocktails" @ Indigo Hotel- All are invited

399 Grove Street, Newton Lower Falls, 617-969-5300

Kicking off our wonderful weekend will be an informal get together at the Indigo Hotel, just up the road from the Riverside MBTA station. You do not need to be staying at the Indigo to attend this get together, it is open to all classmates and spouses (significant others). It is a cash bar on the lower level, and with some luck in the weather department, we will gather inside & outside around the pool around 5:30 PM - look for a familiar face! There is plenty of parking in the hotel garage underneath the building. If you are planning to attend please let us know on the registration form. The hotel is ADA compliant.

NHS Tour and Newtonville Lunch Crawl

Are you interested in seeing the new NHS? This is your opportunity to be led by a few NNHS student leaders. The tour will last a little over an hour inside the facility and approximately 30 minutes on the grounds starting at 10:30 AM.

We are delighted that so many of you have signed up for the tour.  With such a large crowd, we have had to alter the idea of a lunch “crawl” through Newtonville.  There is no facility there that can handle 64 people.  Instead, you will split up into smaller groups, and Ted Kelly will point out various eateries and restaurants that have replaced those we frequented in 1966.  These include the following:

Restaurants within walking distance of the school:
·       *Brewers Coalition, 344 Walnut Street
·       *Ahi Japanese and Sushi Bar, 340 Walnut Street
·       Rox Diner, 335 Walnut Street
·       Cook, 825 Washington Street
·       Los Amigos, 324 Walnut Street
·       Newtonville Pizza, 322 Walnut Street
·       Rice Valley, 821 Washington Street

*These two restaurants may be able to accommodate the largest number of classmates.  Ted will have more details on Saturday along with copies of a handout of Newtonville eateries.

Coffee shops in Newtonville:
·       Starbucks, 16-18 Austin Street
·       George Howell Coffee House, 311 Walnut Street
·       Dunkin Donuts, 829 Washington Street

Restaurants you can get to by car:
·       Join the golfers at O’Hara’s, 1185 Walnut Street in Newton Highlands.  They will be straggling in by 1:00 p.m. that day.
·       Fiorello’s, 187 North Street.
·       There are also many restaurants in Newton Center
.

Should be lots of fun to see how things have changed over the past 50 years and have a chance to visit and reminisce with classmates. The only cost to this activity will be your food.  For more information, contact Ellen Berman.
